Description

A beautiful steer for a 4H project, pasture ornament, or companion to another Highland or child.

This beautiful steer, sired by WKA Braxton, was born on 12/09/23 to the most loving heifer we have produced at Elm Hollow Farm. Mirk currently has blond frosting in his dossan and down his flat top line, but I suspect that will fade as he matures. Mirk is Elm Hollow’s version of the cookie monster. He truly believes all treats belong to him alone.

Mirk can be a winning market steer for your 4H child this year. We chose to steer him because of the increased pressure to produce fewer bulls in the flooded bull market.

Sound breeding bulls need to meet certain standards of scrotal size, weight gain, and conformity to breed standards. Mirk did all those things, so we left him intact until our last weight and scrotal measurement. He was one half cm and 7 pounds shy of expectations. I think I regret the decision to steer him, but in doing so, we have produced an outstanding market steer for showing.

Mirk graduated with honors from halter school and can be easily prepped for the show ring.

Mirk would be a great pasture companion for your young heifers, for cows or even for bulls when they need to be away from the ladies.

The list of great bulls in his ancestory lets you know how strong he will be as a market steer: Gusgurlach of Windrush, Sunset Doubletake, CBS Onyx, MacDonald of Esk, Big Ridge Fergus, and BR Voodoo Magic.
